Transitioning Jobs

Deciding to take a new job or change careers can be a very difficult choice. There are many factors that should be taken into account before making this decision, and most of these have the potential to impact your personal finances.

Things to Consider

There are a number of considerations to think about when contemplating a job change. Some include:

  • Comparison of benefits packages
  • Comparison of retirement savings plans
  • Job security, seniority, and advancement opportunities
  • Changes in your commute
  • Differences in company policies

Keep in mind that if you do decide to change jobs, the CCU Wealth Strategies team can help explore your options for existing 401(k) balances as well as complete a financial plan for you. Financial plans can help you evaluate specific scenarios before making a final decision.
